1980 Yamaha SR 500
This is a very clean 1980 Yamaha SR500 with lots of performance goodies: White Bros 540 big bore, megacycle cam with polished rockers, oiling system upgrade, and Super trap exhaust. It is a blast to ride with great performance from the Koni shocks, brakes, and power. Paint is excellent original maroon with gold trim. It pulls like a tractor in all gears. It’s light weigh, narrow profile, and very torquey motor make it a very entertaining urban bike and canyon carver. After sitting 4 weeks it started with the first kick and reminded me what a hoot it is to ride. At other times, starting it is not for the faint of heart and reminds me why bikers wear serious boots. I just installed a new rear Bridgestone S11 120/90-18. Mileage is 14,203. Price is $3,200.
